True Indoor Comfort: One System for Three Applications
MANDRYLL TEC ID is an innovative system for the reliable removal of mould, the regulation of indoor humidity and the interior insulation of rooms. MANDRYLL TEC ID thus creates a healthy and sustainable living climate.
The three core applications of MANDRYLL TEC ID: Regulation of indoor humidity Mould removal and prevention Lower heating costs through interior insulation
Mould Removal: The Problem
Autumn marks the start of the so-called mould season. Falling outdoor temperatures combined with heated interiors create temperature differences that encourage condensation on cool surfaces such as windows and exterior walls. At the same time, rain and damp weather raise humidity levels, while many people ventilate less often to save energy. Add to this weak points in the building fabric – such as leaking roofs, windows or walls – and all these conditions together create an ideal environment for mould growth indoors.
An unhealthy indoor climate can have serious health consequences: Chronic respiratory diseases Allergies and skin conditions Fatigue and headaches Increased risk of respiratory infections
The Solution: MANDRYLL Calcium Silicate Boards
MANDRYLL calcium silicate boards provide reliable protection against mould growth thanks to their unique properties: Inorganic: no food source for mould fungi High pH value (above 10): prevents mould growth Temperature-regulating: raising the surface temperature prevents condensation moisture Humidity-regulating: capillary action temporarily stores excess indoor moisture
Tested and proven: seven weeks after installation, no mould growth is visible.
Why Is Vapour Permeability So Important?
The MANDRYLL system absorbs humid air and transports it outwards through the wall – highly vapour-permeable with µ = 3 according to EN 12086. The working principle is just like breathable clothing: thanks to MANDRYLL, warm, humid indoor air can be carried away to the outside. At the same time, the system's thermal insulation properties prevent moisture from forming on interior walls.
The processing steps for mould remediation: 1. Apply MANDRYLL TEC ID KA mortar 2. Press on, float into place, fill the joints 3. Correct transitions by cutting to size 4. Apply the reinforcement layer and finish the wall with fine plaster 5. Paint the surface with silicate paint after the curing time 6. Enjoy a healthy living climate
For the final coat, only vapour-permeable paints with an Sd value ≤ 0.05 m should be used. Since bonded calcium silicate boards always show joints and small irregularities at the connections, the surface must be smoothed before painting – including over the joints – with a suitable finishing plaster such as MANDRYLL TEC Feinputz. To avoid hairline cracks in the finishing plaster, we recommend a reinforcement layer of MANDRYLL TEC ID GEWEBE and MANDRYLL TEC ID KA MÖRTEL underneath. To permanently preserve vapour permeability through future repainting, we recommend lightly sanding the coating after five layers.

Calcium silicate board: MANDRYLL TEC ID SP 25 3. Reinforcement and plaster layer: MANDRYLL TEC ID GEWEBE + MANDRYLL TEC ID KA MÖRTEL 4. Finishing plaster & paint: MANDRYLL TEC FEINPUTZ, silicate interior paint if required

Interior Insulation for Ceilings & Walls
The MANDRYLL TEC ID interior insulation system is based on highly vapour-permeable stone wool interior insulation boards, MANDRYLL TEC ID PLATTE 30 and 60, and impresses with excellent thermal insulation (thermal conductivity λB = 0.035 W/(m·K)), maximum fire protection (building material class A1) and reliable moisture management (water vapour diffusion resistance µ = approx. 1.8).
The complete system minimises the risk of mould, creates a healthy indoor climate and is easy to retrofit – ideal for historic and listed buildings too. MANDRYLL TEC ID reduces heat transmission, improves temperature control and noticeably lowers heating and cooling costs – for the occupants as well as for the wallet. MANDRYLL TEC ID – more living comfort, less energy loss.
The key benefits for tradespeople: Easy processing, no primer, no dowel fixing required Straightforward system build-up and low board weight Can be cut with a utility knife, very low fragility Curves possible (radius from 150 cm) 30 mm board = minimum thermal protection for almost all existing constructions 60 mm board = subsidy-eligible thermal protection requirements for numerous listed buildings Functionality of the system build-up proven even under occurring indoor moisture
What does capillary-active mean? The system absorbs moisture via capillary forces and channels water through fine pores like a sponge – with no external forces required.
The MANDRYLL Interior Insulation Guide
MANDRYLL TEC ID interior insulation is particularly suited to the 15 - 20 % of buildings where exterior insulation is not possible. With the 30 mm board, the minimum thermal protection according to DIN 4108-2 (U-value ≤ 0.83 W/(m²·K), R-value ≥ 1.2 (m²·K)/W) is achieved for almost all existing constructions; the 60 mm board meets the subsidy-eligible requirements for listed buildings (U-value ≤ 0.45 W/(m²·K), R-value ≥ 2.2 (m²·K)/W).
Good to know: a building is "low-temperature-ready" when its heating system can operate with the lowest possible heating water temperature ("flow temperature"). On the coldest day of the year it must not exceed 55 °C, and on all other days it must be significantly lower. (Source: VDPM)
The processing steps for interior insulation: 1. Apply MANDRYLL TEC ID KA mortar 2. Buttering-floating onto the substrate 3. Press on and float into place 4. Apply KA mortar and reinforce with fleece 5. Plaster the surface after one week of curing 6. Enjoy the indoor climate
