INDUTEC – The Smart Waterproofing Solution

Flat roofs are among the most heavily stressed parts of any building. Their exposed position makes them particularly vulnerable to external influences – from heavy rain and UV radiation to extreme temperature swings. Add to this the building-physics stresses between indoor and outdoor climate and the mechanical loads caused by movement, expansion or deflection of the structure.

At the same time, demands are rising: modern flat roofs are greened, used as recreational areas or fitted with PV systems. MANDRYLL INDUTEC is the answer to these challenges – reliable, practice-oriented solutions for the permanent waterproofing of flat roofs, component connections and complex transitions. Permanently dry and secure.

At its core is MANDRYLL INDUTEC PU 1K: a high-quality, emission-free single-component liquid plastic that is ready to apply immediately, with no mixing required. It is solvent-free, bonds securely to the widest range of substrates – and is the long-lasting, fast-to-apply alternative to bitumen.

Easy to Apply, Durably Resilient

MANDRYLL INDUTEC is a seamless, joint-free waterproofing solution based on liquid plastic (SMP) that adapts flexibly to individual site conditions and provides lasting protection. The system meets all requirements of DIN 18531, DIN 18533 and DIN 18534 as well as the German Flat Roof Guideline, and holds an abP (general test certificate) for structural waterproofing. Tested to ETAG 005 – ETA-25/0447, MANDRYLL INDUTEC meets the highest technical standards – quality that keeps its promise.

The MANDRYLL INDUTEC advantages: Certified: ETA approval, CE marking, low-emission, root-resistant to DIN EN 13948 Sustainable: VOC-free, vapour-permeable, tested, long-lasting Practical: 1K system – no mixing, no stirring; fast curing, bonds to many substrates Economical: easy handling, short drying times, ideal for refurbishment and new build

The System Build-Up: Clear, Modular, Quickly Realised

The MANDRYLL INDUTEC waterproofing system follows a clear layer structure: depending on the substrate, a suitable primer is applied first. This is followed by the first coat of liquid waterproofing, into which a fleece is embedded as reinforcement. A second waterproofing coat completes the build-up – for a secure, flexible and long-term reliable seal.

Substrate Primer if required: INDUTEC P-K or P-M 1st coat: INDUTEC PU 1K Fleece reinforcement: INDUTEC VLIES 110 g/m² (structural connections with INDUTEC S TAPE) 2nd coat: INDUTEC PU 1K

The modular system comprises perfectly matched products for connections, penetrations and complex details. The INDUTEC system build-up is simple and quick to realise.

Why SMP Liquid Plastic Is the Best Solution for Roof Refurbishment

SMP liquid plastic is a modern, single-component hybrid polymer for permanent waterproofing in construction. It combines the advantages of PU and silicone: elastic, strongly adhesive, long-lasting and easy to apply. Typical applications include flat roof refurbishment, plinth waterproofing, transitions at windows and doors, and crack-bridging detail solutions.

Compared with PU, bitumen and dispersion/acrylic systems, MANDRYLL INDUTEC (SMP) shows its strengths: Substrate adhesion: outstanding on concrete, bitumen, metal, wood and PVC – dispersion systems bond only to a limited extent Application: 1K, ready to use, cold-applied – PU systems are usually 2K and moisture-sensitive, bitumen requires heating Crack bridging: very good, elastic – bitumen is moderate and barely flexible Drying time: rainproof very quickly, tolerant of moisture penetration UV and weather resistance: excellent, no yellowing – bitumen ages rapidly under UV exposure Long-term performance: decades of service life – bitumen becomes brittle over the years, joints become vulnerable Field of use: roof, terrace, balcony, plinth and connection details

100% Watertight from Outside – Yet Vapour-Permeable

MANDRYLL INDUTEC PU 1K is a ready-to-use, silane-terminated polyether for the flame-free waterproofing of detail connections on roof waterproofing. The product is single-component, solvent-free and enables fast, safe application even under demanding conditions.

The decisive difference from conventional systems: INDUTEC PU 1K is 100% watertight from the outside, yet moisture within the component can diffuse out. With other systems, moisture cannot escape – and rot can develop as a result.

Certified quality: ETA-25/0447, tested to ETAG 005 W3 use category (25 years) Fire behaviour E / external fire exposure: BROOF (t1) Root-resistant to EN 13948

Suitable for flat roof details, connections, penetrations and transitions on solid substrates.

Application: 7 Steps to a Watertight Surface

The substrate must be dry, clean, load-bearing and free of adhesion-reducing substances. Special materials (e.g. plastics or metals) may require additional pre-treatment. Application takes place at +5 °C to +40 °C, max. 80% air humidity and max. 5% substrate moisture. Before application, the resin is stirred thoroughly; it is applied by brush or roller using the wet-in-wet method: 2/3 of the resin quantity beneath the MANDRYLL INDUTEC fleece, 1/3 on top. Fleece overlaps: min. 5 cm between strips, min. 10 cm at connection surfaces.

1. Pre-treat the substrate 2. Mask off (prime the substrate if required) 3. Stir the container with a stirring rod 4. Apply the first coat (approx. 2.2 kg/m²) 5. Embed the perforated fleece 6. Apply the second coat (approx. 1.3 kg/m²) 7. Remove the masking tape

Ready for Almost Any Substrate

Whether old roof or new build – INDUTEC bonds securely to the widest range of substrates. Bitumen waterproofing membranes (APP/SBS, slated or sanded on both sides) merely require the removal of dirt and loose particles – no primer needed. Plastic waterproofing membranes such as FPO, PVC-P, EVA roofing membrane and EPDM are sanded and prepared with the appropriate primer (plastic or EPDM). Metals such as aluminium, copper, stainless steel, lead or titanium zinc are pre-treated with cleaner; wood and wood-based materials are sanded. Mineral substrates such as concrete and screed are sanded and freed of cement laitance. On insulation materials (PIR/PUR, EPS/XPS, foam glass), a separating/backing layer with MANDRYLL INDUTEC S TAPE is applied where necessary.

Critical substrates are not recommended: thick-film bitumen coatings (PMBC), tiles and natural stone, silicone-containing substrates or bitumen emulsions – here the rule is: test adhesion on site.
